Sunday Conundrum?
Here’s a question for all the Dear Readers: what would you do?
I’m on call, and sneaked out for lunch between hospitals. In the M&S car park beside me, is a car. It’s quite warm, it’s very busy, and there are two young children in the car (approximately 4 and 3 years old). Alone.

Indeed this is a conundrum. Forty or fifty years ago when I was a sprog the practice of leaving children alone in cars was not uncommon. The parents’ main concern then would have been that we didn’t kill each other out of boredom. The car would have been seen as a safe environment.
Of course it’s very different today. We are much more attuned to all the things that could go wrong. For me it would depend on how long the children were left alone, how they were behaving, how warm it was, where the car was. If I had the luxury of time to spare I might keep an eye on the situation, if not, I really don’t know what I would do….

I’d call the cops immediately. No hesitation,no doubt.
Then I’d put a window in.
